Roles & Responsibilities
As a Finance Controller, you will lead the finance team and manage end-to-end financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, international accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide actionable insights to management.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
- Support external and internal audits; implement and strengthen internal control systems.
- Collaborate with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage banking relationships, funding requirements, and treasury functions.
- Introduce digital finance solutions, improve ERP reporting, and streamline processes.
- Mentor and guide junior finance staff, ensuring succession planning and team capability building.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA India/UK/SA or equivalent global qualification).
- 6–8 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, or controlling functions.
- At least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing sector with exposure to costing, inventory control, and production finance.
- Excellent command of IFRS/GAAP and familiarity with Tanzanian regulatory requirements (preferred, but not mandatory).
- Proficiency in financial systems (ERP, SAP, Tally, or Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
