Roles & Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role that requires both technical accounting skills and investigative temperament. Typical responsibilities include:
- Lead and support forensic investigations into suspected financial fraud, misstatements, asset diversion and other irregularities.
- Design and execute transaction testing and tracing — from bank reconciliations to ledger analysis and complex journal walkthroughs.
- Run advanced data analyses using Excel, data-analytics platforms and e-discovery tools to identify anomalies, trends and suspicious patterns.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports suitable for internal stakeholders, external counsel, regulators or courts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams — legal counsel, cybersecurity, fraud tech vendors and external investigators.
- Support litigation and dispute resolution, including preparation of exhibits, expert summaries and witness-ready documents.
- Train junior team members, review their work and ensure that all deliverables meet firm quality standards and ethical guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (freshly qualified CAs are highly encouraged to apply).
- Exceptional command of Microsoft Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, data cleaning techniques, basic macros and experience with large datasets. (Excel ability is non-negotiable.)
- Comfortable drafting reports and presentations in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint — ability to translate complex findings into clear client-ready formats.
